21st Century Skills is an initiative led by the Inter-American Development Bank that brings public and private sector stakeholders together. The initiative strengthens learning ecosystems to equip Latin American and Caribbean citizens with transversal skills.

 

The Future is Now!

Accelerated changes in technology, migration, demographics, climate and, pandemic such as COVID-19, are reshaping the social, economic and political order.

To face these challenges that require a different set of skills for work and life, the IDB launched the 21st Century Skills Initiative.

This initiative aims to support education and training systems by implementing effective programs of transversal skills development.

Generate Knowledge to Create Solutions We generate applicable knowledge necessary to understand how individuals can succeed in their academic, professional, and life trajectories. Knowledge Develop Programs, Content, and Prototypes We shape talent through #skills21 programs, prototypes, and content at all stages of life Solutions Assess, Certify and Showcase Skills CLIC is a regional platform that assesses, certifies, and showcases #Skills21 and guides individuals throughout their lives, connecting them with development opportunities. Skills Certification Partnerships Build Ecosystems through Partnerships We partner with public and private sector actors, civil society and academia, to generate inclusive education programs in Latin America and the Caribbean that foster #skills21.  Financing Provide Financial Support We provide financial assistance, including loans, grants, and technical cooperation, which helps countries effectively implement #skills21 programs.
